Rae is a mixed media artist and has exhibited in places all over the world. Living in Bali, Rae is volunteering at soul surf project Bali by providing surfyoga lessons and art classes. Her collection, a mix of paintings and collage, is dedicated to Bali, “islands of the Gods” and it’s people. Many of the paintings have to do with Bali's youth culture and the fact that many of the children are surfing the waves of Bali, day in and day out. Besides making paintings Rae creates art on used surfboards, using a mix of paint, graffiti and surf photos. In one of her art workshops, the orphans from Denpasar, made surfboard art using their own surf pictures. Their surf art will be sold by lottery during the artshow on the 7th of May. All proceeds from this lottery will be used for the development of soul surf project Bali. Furthermore, 25% of the sold paintings will go to the foundation.
Many thanks to the Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship Tour (CC-ISC) and Bali Art Media for supporting the soul surf project Bali Art Charity Exhibition.
Come and have a look! And bring your friends!

 workshop surfboard art
On the 18th of April soul surf project Bali organized an art workshop for the orphans of Widhya Asih 1 from Denpasar, together with artist Rae Vavra who supports sspB by giving surfyoga and art lessons.
In previous art workshops the kids could make collage paintings and create their own design on tshirts. This time the kids had the opportunity to make art on old donated surfboards using their own surfpictures. They learned different techniques, like using spray paint in a creative way, how to mix the different colours of paint etc. But most of all, they had a lot of fun with painting the boards and painting themselves! Their surf art will be sold by lottery during the ‘Epic Indo’ art show of Rae Vavra on the 7th of May in Black Dog Bar (from 19:00 – 23:30 hrs). All proceeds from this lottery will be used for the development of soul surf project Bali. The orphans made two pieces of art on surfboards that day, one for the lottery and one for themselves, to hang in their orphanage.
